Last fall, Woolwich Township Mayor Natalie Matthias and the Township Committee entered into an agreement with Aqua New Jersey to construct a new water tower for the upcoming development near Kings Highway and Route 322. As part of the project, Aqua agreed to paint a custom design on the tower at no cost to the Township. To make the design truly reflect the township, Mayor Matthias launched the Woolwich Water Tower Logo Design Contest. The call for creativity was met with an outpouring of enthusiasm, with 33 residents submitting more than 50 unique designs.
The community response didn’t stop there. Voting opened to the public, and Woolwich residents showed up in full force. More than 1,200 votes were cast, and over 500 voters chose Christine Bjanes’ design as their favorite.
Christine’s winning design is now visible on the new water tower on Pancoast Road.
