Kingsway Regional High School had its annual Homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 25 with a theme of Golden Tides: From Sunset to Sea.
The dance was well attended with students of all grades enjoying time in the completely transformed school environment. With all decorations chosen and constructed by students, with assistance from student council advisors, Mrs. Corcoran and Mrs. Miller, this was a for-students-by-students event and is truly a favorite here at Kingsway.
Similar to the theme, the week of Oct. 20 was a transition into the homecoming
dance. The week started with spirit week themes chosen by our student council, including
Pajama day, Sports Jersey Day, Country vs. Country Club, Hawaiian day, and finally, class
colors on Friday.
The Kingsway student council was eager for this year’s homecoming season, especially with an opportunity to bring new ideas to Kingsway.
Students appreciated the fresh outlook brought to Kingsway. The upbeat energy of the spirit
week themes, which enabled students to take a break from the ordinary, academic nature of
school, welcomed and opened up more self-expression for students. That vivaciousness
remained persistent with the acclaimed fall pep rally.
This year’s fall pep rally games included tug of war, a spicy eating contest, and blindfolded musical
chairs, human ring toss, and the Homecoming relay featuring the Homecoming court.
Homecoming court 2025 included seniors Gabrielle Ciociola, Zack Burlingame, Anna Jacobs,
Van Gantz, Sophia Mazzarella, Jordan Hernandez, Phoebe O’Rourke, Aidan McCourt, Courtney
Weatherby, David Oravetz, Ezeily Rucci, and Jayden Watson.
To end off pre-Homecoming, Kingsway had its black-out Homecoming game where the
Homecoming King and Queen of 2025, David Oravetz and Anna Jacobs were announced and
Crowned. Congratulations to these well-deserving seniors.
Overall, what a lovely week, complete with spirit weeks, pep rallies, and homecoming.
