GIBBSTOWN — This holiday season, Lasting Memories Event Venue, a family-owned gem in Gibbstown, is spreading warmth and cheer with a special community event: Jammies for Joy. The event, hosted by owners Denise and Tom Minor, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their venue located at 401 Harmony Road, Gibbstown.
Jammies for Joy is designed to give back to local children by providing free new pajamas to children in need. Inspired by initiatives like Toys for Tots, Denise and Tom Minor wanted to do something unique that would brighten the holidays for children, while also creating a fun and festive experience for the entire community.
In addition to receiving pajamas, attendees can enjoy snacks, crafts, refreshments, fun music, and photo opportunities, all at no cost. The event is open to all children, and families do not need to pay to attend.
Local vendors are also invited to participate, provided they contribute donations of pajamas, snacks, or refreshments. While vendors are welcome to promote their businesses, selling products is not permitted, ensuring the focus remains on community giving and family fun.
Denise Minor, a dedicated teacher with the Philadelphia School District, said the event is close to her heart. “We wanted to create something special for our community,” she said. “Giving children new pajamas is a small gesture that can make a big difference, especially for families who may be struggling during the holiday season.”
The Minors, who live in Logan Township, are well-known in the area for their community involvement, and Lasting Memories Event Venue has become a hub for celebrations of all kinds. With Jammies for Joy, they hope to continue that tradition while spreading holiday joy and warmth to children and families in the area.
