CECOLA — Susan R. Cecola, 77 of Woolwich Township passed away Oct. 25 at Cooper University Medical Center, Camden. She was a life resident of the Swedesboro area and a graduate of Kingsway Regional High School, Class of 1967. Sue was a dedicated member of the Marching Band, playing drums and percussion instruments.
She continued her love of music through entertaining senior citizens at various nursing home facilities. Sue was employed by CBS Records and then established her own cleaning service called Sue-Perior Cleaning Service.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She would be the life of the party and would dance as soon as music began and given the opportunity, she would belt out a tune or song from any era. Sue was a country girl at heart and assisted her parents on their farm. Over the years, she continued her love of gardening.
She was a caring, loyal, loving and true friend and will be greatly missed. Sue is survived by Joan Garrity, who shared the past 30 years with Sue, and Joan’s son, David Lemke. She is also survived by her Uncle Sam (Bonnie) Scaffo, cousins John and Maryann Cecala, Sue and Joseph Sasso, Maria Perri, Tony Scaffo, Nancy and Chuck Kulbacki, Stephanie and Larry Gardner, Karen Leinen and Roseanne and George Karcher, many family members and cherished friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Carmela Cecola.
Contributions in her memory to the Kingsway Marching Band would be appreciated. Checks should be made out to Kingsway Regional High School and on memo line indicate “Cecola – Marching Band” and sent to 201 Kings Highway, Woolwich Twp. NJ 08085. And if there should be any doubt, Sue’s final arrangements are being done, “HER WAY”.

GRAEBER — Jennifer Graeber, aged 63, of Woolwich Township, tragically passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, Oct. 31. Born in Washington, D.C., she was the cherished daughter of the late Stanley Lach and Mary (nee Jesup).
Jennifer was a proud graduate of West Deptford High School, Class of 1980, where she not only excelled academically but also played a vital role in the school’s marching band, showcasing her artistic spirit and teamwork.
For many years, Jennifer dedicated herself to serving her community as a postal carrier in Swedesboro, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond for her customers and coworkers.
Besides her commitment to her job, she nurtured her creativity through various hobbies, including floral arrangement and wood carving classes. Cooking was another passion of hers. She delighted in preparing meals and sharing them with her family and friends, often gathering loved ones around her table to create cherished memories.

LOMBARDO — Nicole Lombardo. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicole Lombardo, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left us far too soon after a courageous battle with cancer. Nicole was the strongest of warriors as she bravely battled for her life, until she took her very last breath. She passed away surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Born with a heart full of warmth and a smile that could light up any room, Nicole shared her life for 32 wonderful years with her husband, Joe, and together they built a beautiful marriage of 28 years. When Joe took her to meet his family, they knew from the twinkle in his eye that she was the one.
She was the proud wife of Joe and devoted mom of two amazing kids: her daughter, Gianna, and her son, Joey, who were her entire world. There was no doubt that for Nicole, family came first.
Nicole found joy in everything that surrounded her. She loved spending time with her family in Ocean City, NJ, the place that made her the happiest.
She enjoyed her summer long stay at her cozy bungalow in Marmora, NJ with toasty campfires while watching the Phillies, playing competitive bingo games, late night swimming, long days on the beach, and strolls on the boardwalk.
Nicole loved cooking and baking. She bonded with Gianna over her love of preparing meals and baking sweet treats where they spent many days and nights in the kitchen together. She made the best barbecue shrimp and beef burgundy and was always working on some new recipe. She also made the best chocolate chip cookies and fudge brownies.
On Sundays, while the boys were watching football, Nicole and Gianna enjoyed lunch and went on shopping sprees together.
Nicole and her family enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas. The Grinch was her favorite movie, but she was hardly a Grinch. Her home was always the most decorated on the block for Christmas.
She was endlessly crafty, creating her own decorations and displays. She adored snowy days, hot coffee, Hallmark movies, warm cookies, and everything merry and bright.
She was also a familiar face in the Logan Township School District, first as a dedicated bus driver and later as a teacher’s aide. Her kindness, patience, and sense of humor touched the lives of so many students and teachers.
Most of all, Nicole was her children’s biggest fan cheering from the sidelines at soccer fields and baseball diamonds, beaming with pride at every play. She was also the biggest supporter of her husband, through many years of protecting and serving the community and standing proudly next to him at his promotions. Her love for her family was fierce and unshakable.
Nicole fought bravely, lived fully, and loved deeply and that’s how she will always be remembered.
A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held at Daley Life Celebration Studio. Donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

NETHERBY — John Netherby, 58. From the days of his youth, John was a joyous guy. At the Marie Katzenback School for the deaf, he was always in the center of the crowd.

He cheered for the Phillies and the Eagles, but was most into the Flyers. The only exception was when they played the Penguins. He was a huge Mario Lemieux fan.
He liked to do a little skiing and was into street hockey. He retired from Ikea as a forklift operator and was most recently employed at the Amazon Warehouse in Carneys Point.

BARBER — Helen Barber, 88.
Her joy was contagious. When Helen laughed you could hear it blocks away. Her hugs and love pulled many through their darkest hours. She had a powerful ear. You knew you were being heard by someone who cared deeply.
Family was priority one with craft nights, annual trips to the Outer Banks, and girl trips with her daughters. She crafted individual relationships with her grandkids, monitoring their trials and tribulations, enjoying dress up date nights, and even checking in on their fantasy football progress.
If she was out of the area, she’d most likely be with her crew of friends at Big Timber Campground or touring the country with her husband on her motorcycle. She collected people as she moved through the world, maintaining friendships that lasted a lifetime.
As a mom she had boundless energy with a full-time job, four kids and a dog, a warm meal on the table at night, and somehow always time for her kids. She made the best pot roast and stew with dumplings. Her coleslaw has never quite been duplicated.
She was born and raised in Gibbstown, raised her family on East Avenue in Swedesboro and retired to Woolwich Township.
A young Helen Devoy would meet her perfect foil on a blind date. She and the late Leon “Junnie” Barber shared a 61-year marriage blessed by their children, Mariagnes “Chickie” Johnson, Leon (Kim) Barber, III, Peggy (Clem) Cipparone, Jennifer (Viraf) Ranji, and bonus daughter Holly (Michael) Sparks, in addition to 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In his spare time, he played a little golf, enjoyed a few Johnny Walker Blacks, fought the one-armed bandits at the Tropicana (he hit more than his fair share of jackpots) and hit the dance floor anytime there was swing music playing. If his TV was on, he’d be catching up with Perry Mason, Columbo and Matlock.
