Kingsway had its National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony on Nov. 12, a wonderful night celebrating dragons’ commitments to academics, leadership, service, and scholarship. A total of 162 students were inducted into the National Honor Society, bringing the total number of students to 228.
The National Honor Society advisors Mrs. Smith and Ms. Badechha expressed their gratitude to be working on and leading the program. This is their third year with the National Honor Society, and throughout this time, they’ve aimed to bring back a commitment to community service.
Mrs. Smith recounts the two whole-group community service projects they’ve done every year.
Through this, she says NHS and Kingsway have developed a relationship with St. Peter’s Food Pantry, donating non-perishable foods to feed families in need around our community.
Each member through their individual service projects has impacted the community independently as well. From collecting stuffed animals for the EMS to volunteering in nursing homes, these leaders demonstrate strong character, even being recognized for their work.
Ms. Badechha believes the community impact is the most inspiring part, and she appreciates the fact that it not only benefits the community or students, but also is beautiful to see as advisors too.
Mrs. Smith and Ms. Badechha look forward to seeing what this group of students does next.
The NHS officers of the 2025-2026 school year are president Krishani Parikh, vice president Dylan Illi, secretary Mason Corey, treasurer Talia Allen, and parliamentarian Sydney Fusina. Elected at the end of last school year, these hardworking officers managed and led the rest of the society through activities, including the Trunk or Treat service event, that took place on Oct 30th.
President Parikh reflects on the goal of this organization – to uplift the community by bringing together people with various experiences, backgrounds, and livelihoods. She loved witnessing the incredible impact of Kingsway’s chapter.
Like Krishani, vice president Dylan is excited to see the individual service projects and honored to be part of an organization that serves and gives back. Secretary Mason enjoys being able to be part of and lead a group of people dedicated to bettering both themselves and the community.
Treasurer Talia loved the induction ceremony, saying she was inspired by the inductees and returning member’s hard work and dedication. Parliamentarian Sydney agreed it was a lovely night with a wonderful group of people. She is so excited and honored to be a part of it.
Officially inducted with a lovely ceremony, these inductees and returning members are now prepared to leave a mark on the world past Kingsway’s walls. Depicting a commitment to service, scholarship, academics, and leadership, our dragons have shown immense dedication, effort, and enthusiasm.
Now it’s time to equip them to make a change in our community.
Congratulations to all dragons inducted and members of the national honor society.
