Over 160 attend SJ Baseball Old Timers to hear Phillies great

GIBBSTOWN – Over 160 people attended the South Jersey Baseball Old Timer’s annual dinner on Nov. 11 to hear from former Phillie, Don Money.

Money delighted the audience with his baseball knowledge. He spoke of his time with the Phillies and the Brewers and also his time playing in Japan.

Money paid tribute for his baseball success to his wife who was in attendance along with his daughter and son-in law.

An extended line of autograph seekers highlighted the conclusion of Money’s speech. Special quests included former Phillies General Manager Ed Wade, former high school baseball coach Lee Ware, and baseball authority M. Larry Litwin.

Also in attendance were members of the Army/ Navy Garrison #52 from National Park and the American Legion Post #133 from Woodbury.

It was an evening of baseball talk and tributes to the many veterans in attendance. It was an evening tribute to baseball, The Great War, and Nov. 11, 1918.

SJBOT would like to remind people to visit the Hall of Fame at Camden County College, 1889 Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill/Rt. 70 and Springdale Road, in Cherry Hill.
