New Year, New Windows of Opportunity

At Kingsway, this new year brings a new door full of opportunities: the School of

Education guided by the motto Docendo Discimus (“By teaching, we learn”).

Founded in 2026, the Kingsway Regional High School’s School of Education is a multi-year program for students interested in teaching and related educational careers.

As a part of its other specialized programs, the school of education is tailored to students who want to explore the many professions that shape the educational landscape, including teaching, counseling, school leadership, and more. Students will have the opportunity to dive into the field of teaching, human development, and counseling through a plethora of resources offered by this program, including educator interviews, volunteer engagement, case studies, and a 50-hour field shadowing placement.

The school of education offers a three-year program, but it is currently available to 8th through 11th grade students. Kingsway Dragons will have even more opportunities through dual-credit opportunities with continued partnerships between higher education institutions and Kingsway, further helping our Dragons build the framework for their future.

Along with increased variety in academic programs, students will also have more academic offerings, including additional AP (Advanced Placement) classes for students to take. Students may potentially be able to take classes that the CollegeBoard has newly introduced: AP Cybersecurity & AP Business with Personal Finance.

Additionally, while the test itself is not new at Kingsway, there is more to the opportunity. The seal of biliteracy, supervised by Ms. Rachel Anderson, is an astounding chance for multilingual students to earn a seal certifying proficiency in another language. This year, by taking the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy, students are eligible to earn the global seal as well, increasing the scope and accessibility of their knowledge. The seal of biliteracy offers certification in a wide variety of languages, and the seal is a valuable asset both for college and career opportunities in the future.

For the dragons, these new doors open a world of possibilities and an essential way to collect tools, build up, and create a better future. Kingsway this year has one goal in mind for sure: take our students’ paints of potential and give them a canvas.
