Community Helper’s Club: Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m. This monthly meeting is to put like-minded tweens and teens together to discuss how to make our communities a better place.  We will be talking about topics such as going green, donating supplies or even helping the elderly. Crafter’s Corner: Rubber Cement Resist Watercolor with Julie: Tuesday, April 21 at 2 p.m. Julie Palmer will guide us through creating a watercolor painting of tulips by using rubber cement as a resistant. All supplies provided. Please register as space is limited.

Quilling Time: Wednesday, April 15 at 11:30 a.m. Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Saturday Sew-Along: Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. Join your fellow sewists to talk shop and work on your current WIPs. Consumer Fraud: Thursdays, April 30 at 12 p.m. Learn about the various imposter scams and frauds targeting potential victims in New Jersey through calls, email, and other methods. This session will inform you on how to protect yourself.  Presented by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

Professor Travis Glasson – Presents “Nobody Men:” Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. Please join us for a lecture by Prof. Travis Glasson, Temple University Professor and Author of the new book Nobody Men. Prof. Glasson is a historian of Britain, the British Empire, and the transnational Atlantic world. “Nobody Men” is the story of colonists who were neither loyalists nor patriots during the American Revolution, as told through the experiences of one transatlantic family. At least one-third of the colonial population was neutral during the American Revolution, yet they have rarely featured in narratives that shape our ideas about the conflict. By following a single transatlantic family, the Crugers, historian Travis Glasson puts neutrals–the “nobody men”–at the center of this tumultuous period’s history. Toddler Music & Movement: Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2 to 5. Fingerplays, dancing, marching, singing and instruments. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Baby Music: Thursday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. Dance, Sing, bounce, & move with your little one.  This is best suited for 1 month to 2 years.  Be sure to register.

Dungeons and Dragons: Thursday, April 9 & 16 at 6 p.m. Come one come all teens who range from novice to expert for an exciting round of Dungeons and Dragons at the Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library. Registration is not required but highly recommended.

Homeschooling Fun: Monday, April 13 at 3 p.m. This program alternates between STEM projects and “Meet the Artist.”  Please register. Best suited for ages 5 to 12.

Lego League: Tuesday, April 14 at 4 p.m. Ages 4 to 12.  Build what you like or try our monthly creation challenge. Please register. 

Teen Art Hangout: Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. Experience various art mediums and activities. Register at www.gcls.org.

Teen Anime Club: Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. Ages 13 to 17. Enjoy Anime and Manga with other like-minded fans.

Adapted Art: Wednesday, April 15 at 4:30 p.m. Join us for an adapted art activity for children with different abilities. Space is limited so please be sure to register. Best suited for ages 2 to 6.

FURever as Friends: Monday, April 20 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Read to one of our adorable therapy animals. Each child will be given a 10–15-minute time slot. All ages. 

Teen Book Club: Tuesday, April 21 at 4 p.m. This month’s selection is The Goldfish by Lisa Thompson.

Teen Gaming: Tuesday, April 21 at6:30 p.m. Play video games, board games, card games, and make some new friends!

Art Exhibit: Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. -12 p.m. The 4th graders from Harker School will display their art at the Swedesboro Library at 11 a.m. The works will be depictions of Revolutionary War events in NJ. Light refreshments will follow.

Children’s Literary Recital: Monday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. Join us for our first children’s literary recital. Children pick a poem, Soliloquy, etc. to recite from memory. A brochure will be made listing the children’s names and pieces. Light refreshments will follow. Each child must be registered and the piece they are reciting must be approved by library staff (due April 13). Dressing up is encouraged but not required.

Teen Movie Night: Tuesday, April 28 at6 p.m. Come enjoy a relaxing movie or create a skit that could go towards a future, fun film project. Ages 12 to 17. Registration not Required but is encouraged.

Teen DIY: Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. Come make a simple keychain to put on your lanyard, house keys or just to have as a nice accessory. Registration is not required but is recommended.

Literacy Buddies: Are you interested in getting homework or reading help for your child? Is your teen interested in tutoring? The Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library provides weekly one-on-one help. Call 856-467-0111 if interested.

Take-Home Activities:

Read and Do Bags!:  Limited to one per child, each bag contains 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes are available while supplies last. Please bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.

Grab and Go Kits for Children: Limited to one per child, each bag includes simple crafts you can do at home! There will be two new crafts per month. First-come, first-served, while supplies last. 

Adult Programs:

Dip Party: Monday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make different dip recipes! Supplies and space are limited; registration is required.

Needle Arts: Wednesday, April 8 & 22 at 7 p.m. Crochet, knit, or sew your own project or select one of ours.

Book Tok-er’s Book Club: Monday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. Let’s chat about what’s on our social media FYPs! Registration is appreciated but not required.

Drum 2B Fit: Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Using drumsticks and yoga balls, focus on your health with cardio drumming – made fun for everyone!  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Page Turners Adult Book Club: Thursday, April 30 at 12:45 p.m. Join us for a lively discussion on an interesting selection of books. This month’s title is The Art Thief by Michael Finkel.
