SYNAGOGUE OFFERS FREE TUITION FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 2

judiasm webSEWELL — Congregation B’nai Tikvah-Beth Israel in Sewell, which offers a robust and fun religious school curriculum for the youngest children through confirmation (high school), is giving families a financial break by eliminating school tuition for children in kindergarten through second grade.

In addition, synagogue membership is not required for families to receive free kindergarten instruction.

The school is a great place for kids to learn about their religion as well as connect with other Jewish children in a comfortable setting that welcomes students of all abilities.

“There are lots of choices in life for children these days that keep parents quite busy, too,” said Wendy Marder, principal of CBT-BI’s religious school, noting that after-school programs, sports, and camps take up a lot of time in children’s lives.

“I am a fan of these programs and activities but I also like to advocate for free time. I am also a very strong advocate of religious education and spiritual time spent both alone and with family and friends. There are things in this world that we can’t understand, buy, or fix. There are holidays and life cycle events and gatherings that are richer because of traditions that bind families and communities together,” she said.

The synagogue provides a place for those ties to be formed. “CBT-BI is more than a school. It is a comfortable, fun place that encourages friendships, learning, creativity, community involvement, and contemplation. The teachers and I and our Rabbi welcome questions and try to challenge our students to think outside the box,” said Marder.

Congregation B’nai Tikvah-Beth Israel, located at 115 East Holly Avenue in Sewell, provides a wide range of religious, educational, and social programs. Visitors are always welcome.
