1CLAYTON — Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco announced that the County’s Annual Kids Fishing Contest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Scotland Run Park.
The fishing contest will begin at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. The event is held rain or shine and registration is held the morning of the contest. There is no cost to enter the contest.
All children ages 18 and under are eligible to win a first or second place trophy and prize in three age groups. The age groups are seven years and under; 8 to 13 years; and 14 to 18 years.
There is a boating and non-boating category. Everyone 16 years and older must be licensed.
Contestants should bring their own bait and are limited to one rod and reel. Final weigh-in is at 11:30 a.m.

Director Damminger said, “This event is a great tradition that the County’s Parks and Recreations Department has been hosting for over 30 years. It is nice to see children of all ages continue to participate in an event that has been around for generations.”
