BRIDGEPORT — During their meeting on Dec. 19, the Logan Township Council awarded Tim Rousseau a Certificate of Appreciation for his service to the community. Rousseau has served on the Logan Planning Board for four years, and been a member of the Environmental Commission for five and a half years.
Mayor Frank Minor said he was sad to make the presentation for another reason. Council also accepted a letter of resignation from Rousseau effective Dec. 31, 2017.
“Tim has dedicated his time to the township, and has used his expertise to help the planning board decide who we want to bring into our township,” Minor praised. “It seems like you’ve been on the planning board for at least 10 years.”
Rousseau started with the Logan Planning Board in November 2013 and with the Environmental Commission in February 2012. Minor pointed out that Rousseau had been able to look over the plans for another industrial park coming to Logan Township at his last meeting, and they met his approval.
Other new business saw Council accept a letter of resignation from Frank Servais. Servais served as a Construction Official, a Zoning Officer, a Housing Inspector and a Building Inspector. His resignation would be effective Dec. 29, 2017.
“Frank and his wife are moving to West Virginia, and we thank him for his service,” Minor commented.
Elsewhere, the Council adopted a resolution that would authorize the purchase of a compact track loader for $83,536.54 through a state contract with Clark Equipment Company. They passed another resolution that approved the refund of a $2.00 overpayment for a construction permit to Centimark.
In updates, Superintendent of Public Works Mike Riley reported that his department was working on the lights for the softball and soccer fields, weather permitting. Minor credited Riley and Public Works for putting up the township banners and the Christmas tree. He added that Public Works had done good work during recent snow events.
