SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER
JUSTINE BELLE JOSUE, daughter of Stanley and Joyce Josue of Swedesboro.
School Activities: Fall play, spring musical, yearbook, newspaper, class officers, National Honor Society officers, Habitat for Humanity student leader, biology club, astronomy club, foreign language club, Interact, and Student Council.
Out of School Activities: Volunteer at Kings Things, a Christian-owned thrift shop.
Honors/Awards: Elected sophomore, junior and senior years as class vice president, elected freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years into Student Council; elected as National Honor Society vice president; co-editor of yearbook; homecoming court; and homecoming queen runner-up.
Future Plans: Justine hopes to major in biology or physics, along with pre-med at New York University and would like to become a doctor.
ALEC SERY, son of Jim and Nancy Sery of Clarksboro.
School Activities: Captain of varsity soccer team, varsity winter and spring track runner, president of the National Honor Society, and member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Out of School Activities: Plays for the South Jersey Elite Barons Soccer Academy. He is a member of the Gloucester and Salem Community Advisory Panel (participating in panel discussions between chemical plants and their neighboring communities). Alec is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church’s Youth Group, taking part in Youth Works mission trip to North Carolina, World Visions 30-Hour Famine, and several work projects. He has volunteered for Power Camp, Camp Blast, and VBS.
Honors/Awards: Third chair clarinetist for All South Jersey Orchestra, fifth chair clarinetist for All South Jersey Wind Ensemble, first chair pianist for All South Jersey Orchestra and Symphonic Band. All Tri-County Conference Team Member for the 3200m in spring track, and National Merit Commended Student.
Future Plans: Alec plans to major in chemical engineering and pursue an MBA.
