JAMES – Dessie B. “Nan” James (nee Blankenship), age 97, of Mickleton, formerly of Deptford passed peacefully on Aug. 4. Dessie was born in Osaka, VA in 1916 to Arthur and Martha Blankenship. She was married to Charles C. James, Sr. on 1934 and spent 62 wonderful years together before his passing in 1997. She worked for the Tasty Baking Co. in Philadelphia for 22 years and has been a member of the Bethel Community Church for over 45 years.
Mrs. James is predeceased by her husband Charles C. James., R., her son Charles C. James Jr., and her son-in-law Arthur Waterman Sr. Dessie is the beloved mother of Anna Stratton (Robert) of Mickleton, Sue Grieshaber (Joseph) of Louisville, KY and Charlotte Waterman of Blackwood; mother-in-law of Claudia James. She is the loving grandmother of Kathy (Joe) Montgomery, Bob (Donna) Stratton Jr., Jim (Raque) Stratton, Joe (Vickie) Grieshaber, Jr., Steve (Tami) Grieshaber, Chuck (Kari) Grieshaber, Linda (Bob) Shoemaker, Jenny (Ed) Whitby, Chuck James, Matt (Kim) James, Arthur (Jacquelyn) Waterman Jr., and Mike Waterman. Dear great grandmother of 28 and great great great grandmother of 13.
