THE SNOW STORM and frigid weather in January brought beastly traveling conditions to many but brought some fun and beauty for others. During the snow storm on Jan. 21, Route 322 in Woolwich Township was slow going because of poor visibility, road conditions, and a jack knifed tractor trailer near the turnpike entrance (below). Businesses throughout the tri-state area closed early during the snowstorm, causing commuter traffic jams and accidents along many roadways. Several cars on Tomlin Station Road in Woolwich Township reportedly were unable to make it up a hill and were stranded. But for others, there was a chance to enjoy a different and safer mode of transportation. Dr. Ernie Beier of Mickelton was able to enjoying some cross country skiing for the first time in four years. Others braved the sub-zero windchills to skate at the newly installed rink in Swedesboro.
