The Swedesboro Woolwich Junior Girls Basketball team finished as runners-up in the Gloucester County Basketball League Junior C playoffs when they fell to Elk Township 23- 20.
On Saturday, March 8, the Elk Township Lions, who were the regular season champions of the Junior C Level American Division with a record of 13-1, and the Swedesboro-Woolwich team coached by Silvia Cancila, who were regular season champions of the Junior C Level National Division with a record of 13-1, met to play for the Tournament and Conference title. In a close game which demonstrated great sportsmanship and athleticism by both teams, Elk Township Lions held off a second half surging Swedesboro-Woolwich team.
