“Caring and Sharing with Seniors” – Friday, June 13 – 11 a.m. Caring and Sharing is a fun time of social activities: puzzles, games, music, crafts, bingo, and more! We will meet on the second Friday of each month from 11-12 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information

Adult Book Club – The adult book club will take a break for the summer and resume in September. The book club meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Teen/Tween Writers’ Club – If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. We will meet on Monday, June 94:30 p.m.

Teen/Tween Book ClubThursday, June 12 – 7 p.m. Our teen/tween book club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. This will be the last book club for the summer. We will resume in the fall. We will be discussing Deep, Dark, and Dangerous: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, June 19 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Teen Summer Reading Program – Begin your series of Wednesday afternoon Summer Reading programs – Wednesday, June 25 – 4 p.m. – we’ll be talking about Dr. Who and creating his “time traveling machine”, the Tardis, using different art mediums.

Teen Advisory Board – Join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Reading Buddy, work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Write reviews and/or create quarterly teen newsletters. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Summer Reading Registrations begin – Beginning Monday, June 16 – go to www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111 to register your child for summer reading 2014 – ‘Fizz, Boom, Read!” – all about science. See our online calendar to view all the fun, educational, and entertaining programs taking place all summer long!

All About Bees – don’t miss live bees and fun activities and handouts that will teach your children all about bees – Monday, June 23 – 7 p.m.

Sciencetellers – Kick off Summer Reading with this entertaining, magical, and science-learning event – Tuesday, June 24 – 7 p.m. at the Bethesda Social Hall.

Family Movie Night – Come see Frozen again or for the first time – it’s so much fun to see it with friends. Bring your own snack – Monday, June 30 – 6:30 p.m. Let’s see how many songs you can sing!

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy dog for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s dates will be Mondays, June 2 & 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. Permission slips are required.

Story Time – Story Time is a fun time! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, June 10, 17, & 24). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time will be held on Thursdays, June 5 & 19 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, June 12 & 26 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Homework and Reading Buddies – The Reading Buddy Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children for help with learning English, help with phonics and reading skills, and help with Math and Language Arts.Children interested in having a reading buddy during the 2013-2014 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a reading buddy should also contact the library.
