Mickleton Girl Wins Miss Pre-Teen NJ

MICKLETON – Sophia Arrendondo, 12, of Mickleton, has been chosen as a state finalist in the Miss Pre-Teen New Jersey contest to be held Aug. 23 and 24 in New Brunswick.

Arrendondo is the daughter of Maria Arrendondo, and would receive a $1,000 cash award and be able to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland.

Arrendondo enjoys surfing, swimming, skiing, and trapeze flying. She also enjoys making pillows for cancer patients, helping out at “Mothers Matter”, sewing, and playing with her dog.

Her sponsors include Coughlin Court Reporting, Doctor Depot, Mary Kay, ING Financial, Within The Light, and Liberty Travel.

Pageants are held for girls, ages four to 18, in five different age groups. Contestants will compete in four overall categories including Formal Wear Modeling, Personal Introduction, Interview, and Community Service Project. National American Miss also offers optional contests such as the top Model Search, Talent, Actress, and more.
