Functional Foods for Life – Tea – Tuesday, Sept. 16 – 6 pm –

Discover why tea is a healthy beverage choice.  Several flavors of tea will be available for sampling. This program is sponsored by Rutgers Cooperative. For more information call 856-467-0111.

Adult Book Club – Tuesday, Sept. 30 – 7 p.m. – Adults meet the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. In May, the book club picks the book selections for the following year. This month’s selection will be Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan. Join us for some lively discussion on this and other interesting selections. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen/Tween Book Club – Thursday, Sept. 11 – 7 p.m. – Enjoy meeting with friends once-a-month to discuss pre-selected books chosen by the previous book club. Corresponding activities often are provided. This month’s selection is The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Call 856-467-0111 for  more information.

Teen/Tween Writers’ Club – Will begin in October. This club normally meets the second Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. On Oct. 13 – we will meet at 5 p.m.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, Sept. 18 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Teen Advisory Board – Join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Reading Buddy, work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities.  Do you enjoy writing? Write reviews and/or create quarterly teen newsletters. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Homework and Reading Buddies – The Reading Buddy Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children for help with learning English, help with phonics and reading skills, and help with Math and Language Arts.  Children interested in having a reading buddy during the 201 -2014 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a reading buddy should also contact the library.

All Ages:

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy animal for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s date will be Monday, Sept. 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. Permission slips are required.

Toddlers/Babies:

Story Time – Story Time is a fun time!  We meet on Tuesday

mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, & 30). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Story TimeWednesday mornings story time meets at 10:30 a.m. September dates are Sept. 3, 10, 17, & 24 in the Library meeting Room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, Sept. 11 & 25 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

1-6th Grade

Abrakadoodle Art – Monday, Sept. 22 – 6:30 p.m. This program is sponsored by the Swedesboro-Woolwich Municipal Alliance. Space is limited. Please register.
