Save the Dates for Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Events

parks and recSWEDESBORO — The Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Committee invites the community to be a part of their new Woolwich Tradition, their First Annual Christmas Parade in Woolwich. Save the date on Saturday, Dec. 6 beginning at 5 p.m. from the Stratton School to Locke Avenue Park.

The parade committee is seeking participants (bands, dance troupes, community and faith organizations, sports teams, antique cars, etc.) to gather at 4 p.m. Interested groups must contact woolwichparade@gmail.com or Mayor Sam Maccarone at smaccarone@woolwichtwp.org to be included.

Immediately following the parade, S/W Parks and Rec. Committee and Sharptown North Church invites everyone to the Annual Community Tree Lighting at Locke Ave Park. The arrival of Santa in his sleigh and his lighting of our Community Christmas Tree kicks off this favorite family event.

Be sure to save the following dates as the excitement continues:

Dec. 12 (Friday) Movie Night FROZEN. Meet at the Stratton School and let’s see who wants to ‘Build a Snowman’ …or watch one on the big screen. More details next month.

Dec. 29 (Monday) Annual Bowling Party at Wood Lanes from 11:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.

It’s back. Our Health, Wellness and Safety Fair returns to the Harker School on Saturday, Jan. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. (inclement weather date the following Saturday). This entirely hands-on, interactive and educational event is sure to have something for everyone.

Interested vendors (pertaining to any aspect of human or animal health, wellness, safety or ‘healthy’ food vendors) should visit http://healthandsafety.webs.com or contact Michele @ (856) 693-6526.

As a reminder, the final public Open Space and Recreation Plan meeting will be held on Dec. 10, 7 p.m. at the Woolwich Township Municipal Building. The Open Space and Recreation Plan Survey will only be open a few more weeks: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Woolwich-Swedesboro-OSRP.

Your input can influence the future of Woolwich Township for you, your children and your grandchildren. Visit woolwichtwp.org for more information on this project.
