Arrest Made In Local Son’s Murder

GLOUCESTER COUNTY—The Gloucester County NAACP announced that the preliminary hearing for Leonaldo Rivera, arrested in the murder of branch third Vice President Wilfredo “Wil” Rojas took place.

According to a short statement issued by the parents of Alejandro Rojas Garcia, “A killer ripped Alex away from us on that fatal morning of January 24, 2015. Throughout our families’ painful ordeal, many people in the tri-state area have offered kindness, loving concern, and most importantly prayers. Now as the Rojas-Garcia family begins the criminal justice trial phase of Alex’s murder, people are encouraged to join the campaign for justice should in Alex’s case and other victims of murder.”

The group encouraged people to attend the trial. “A large presence in the courtroom will send a resounding message that justice loving people will stop at nothing to ensure convictions in acts of senseless murder in our region and across our great nation,” said Loretta Winters, president of the oldest civil rights organization in the country.

Assistant District Attorney, Carlos Vega, an experienced and effective prosecutor will lay out the Commonwealth’s case against the suspect and everyone will learn details of the circumstances surrounding this act of violence of one human being against another.
