TRENTON — The Christie Administration announced that Gloucester County will receive a $1 million county bridge grant and that South Harrison Township will receive a total of $600,000 in Local Aid Infrastructure Fund (LAIF) grants.
South Harrison will receive $300,000 to reconstruct Cedar Grove Road.
The grant is among 32 worth a total of $23.2 million being distributed statewide, bringing the total of state funding for local projects to nearly $121 million since May.
The 32 grants include $1 million to each of New Jersey’s 21 counties through the Local Bridges, Future Needs program, and $2.3 million in Local Aid Infrastructure Fund (LAIF) grants shared by 11 municipalities.
Both types of grants are state-funded and help local governments advance projects without placing a burden on property taxpayers. NJDOT’s FY 14 capital program provides for $190 million in grants through a variety of Local Aid programs.
