SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH
MARIA BOERLIN, daughter of Craig and Lauren Boerlin of Mickleton.
School Activities: Varsity Volleyball, Varsity IndoorTrack and Field, Varsity Lacrosse, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Interact.
Out of School Activities: The Dragon Run, Little Red School House, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Fall Lacrosse League, Winter Lacrosse League, and Gibbstown Swim Club swimmer.
Honors/Awards: Corresponding Secretary for Student Council, Dragon Ambassador, Second Team All-Conference for Volleyball, STEM Program, Modern Music Master (Tri-M), Superintendent’s List all four marking periods, and ALSF Ambassador.
Future Plans: Maria plans to go to college and would like to become an actuary.
KIERSTEN NEWKIRK, daughter of Scott and Ginny Newkirk of Mickleton.
School Activities: National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Marching Band, Environmental Club, Musicals, KDTV Film Club, Select Jazz Ensemble, Interact, and Battle of the Bands.
Out of School Activities: Cecil Creek Farm (summer job), Mainstage Theatre Program, and Mainstage Film Program.
Honors/Awards: Superintendent’s and Principal’s Lists, Best Film Award at Mainstage Film Program, and top four percent of senior class.
Future Plans: Kiersten plans to study all aspects of communications at Salisbury or Quinnipiac University.
SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
THAILA COOPER, daughter of Bruce and Chrystalle Cooper of Woolwich Township.
School Activities: Ambassador Program, Student Council, captain of winter and spring track teams, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Cultures Club, and Class Vice President.
Out of School Activities: AAU Track and Field, community service activities (i.e., March of Dimes Walk, and Philabundance).
Honors/Awards: Honor Roll, and indoor state champion in 400m 3 times for track.
Future Plans: Thaila plans to attend the University of Maryland and major in biology. She hopes to become an obstetrician and work for the humanitarian organization, “Doctors without Borders.”
COLIN POLLICK, son of Bill and Eileen Pollick of Woolwich Township.
School Activities: Black History Month Play, three-year varsity basketball (captain senior year), two-year varsity football, volleyball, one-year varsity tennis, National Honor Society, Young Authors, Interact, and Student Council homeroom representative for two years.
Out of School Activities: Botto’s employee for two years, Sea Isle basketball coach, AAU basketball, number one fan for all of Kingsway sports (at almost all of the games for every sport), Dragon Run volunteer, and South Jersey Jazz scorekeeper.
Honors/Awards: First team All-Conference in basketball, Spotlight Athlete of the Month, Homecoming Court, 4.0 weighted GPA, and Principal’s List (consecutive times).
Future Plans: Colin plans to attend a four-year university (Rutgers, Coastal Carolina, or Florida Gulf Coast), and earn a degree as a sports management major.
