SWEDESBORO — Kings Highway will be alive with Christmas cheer as Swedesboro celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.
The parade will begin at Walter Hill School and will continue all the way through the downtown where it will end at Church Street. Rain date is the following weekend, Saturday, Dec. 7.
The Greater Swedesboro Business Associate sponsored parade will feature a variety of floats, community groups and performing groups including a chance to come out and dance to Duffy’s String Band and meet the Grinch and Elmo.
The parade will conclude with an appearance by Santa. Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children in the Woolwich Fire House until 4 p.m.
The day’s events will wrap up at 6:30 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Borough Hall.
Organizers would like to increase the community’s involvement by having more residents and businesses enter floats in the parade. Please register by Nov. 18. Applications are availabe at www.greatersba.org and groups interested in help creating their float concept may contact Lauren Dunn at (609) 560-9711.
