County Begins Road Improvement in Woolwich Township

MANTUA — For the next several weeks resurfacing will be taking place on or about the week of Sep. 30 on Monroeville Road (CR 694) from the New Jersey Turnpike 1.6 miles south ending near the GCIA Solid Waste Complex entrance.

The roadway will remain open during construction. East bound and west bound traffic along Monroeville Road shall be maintained by way of lane shifts or alternating traffic during the various stages of construction.

Construction will commence at 7 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Completion is anticipated within a week after start date.

The road work will include milling two inches of the existing asphalt and overlaying the roadway with two inches of new asphalt surface course. Wheel ruts and other pavement distortions will be removed by the pavement overlay.

Existing inlet grates not meeting NJDOT standards will be replaced with new bicycle safety grates. The inlet openings not meeting NJ Storm Water Management Guidelines will be replaced
