SWEDESBORO — Historic Swedesboro will host the 7th Annual Olde Kings’ Jazzfest on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 4 p.m. to midnight, featuring 13 bands with an eclectic mix of genres, in seven inspiring venues.
Not a jazz buff? Don’t worry, not all the bands are jazz. There will be a genre for everyone.
Artists include: Beats Walkin’ purveyors of Texas-style western swing, The Gabriels, Swingin’ the jazz classics and tunes from the Great American Songbook, Compass, 42 years with original band members, mixing original compositions with jazz classics, Cold Blue Electric, Jazz/Rock Fusion; Bocco Socks, funky and swinging, back for the sixth year, Blue Jay Slim & The Toneblasters, a rocking blues quartet, featuring Seth Holzman on Harmonica; New Vintage Septet, featuring Paula Johns, tunes from the Great American Songbook, Greg Jones Project, acoustic based improvisational pop rock, ElSoul Trio, the Great American Songbook meets Funky Improv, Rich Budesa Organ Trio, Hammond B-3 Organist, Rich Budesa teams up with Jazz/Blues Master Guitarist Johnny DeFrancesco (of the famous DeFrancesco family) for a blistering night of funk, soul and jazz, Trio Nova, instrumental jazz, pop and bossa nova, Temple’s Boyer School of Music, classical guitar and harp Majors, New Orleans Jazz Quartet aka “The Red Garter Band” has been around for decades.
This year’s Jazzfest will host a diverse array of musicians highlighting talent throughout the Delaware Valley. Each of the seven venues along with the musicians has been handpicked by the committee for your enjoyment. Check out the acoustically stunning arched ceiling of Trinity Episcopal Church. South of SoHo Boutique a premiere women’s clothing boutique, featuring sophisticated designer apparel, shoes, hand bags and accessories is an added venue this year.
Music lovers can find food and spirits at the totally remodeled and renovated Tavro 13, (formerly Swedes Inn). Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe just across the street from Tavro, is a fantastic spot for a treat and a coffee. Mama Francesca, Italian dishes and pizza, is (BYOB). Get some Chinese food at the Great Wall and treat yourself to your favorite smoke from the Cigar Vault as you stroll from venue to venue.
The Wine Tent located at Schoener’s Service Station, hosts New Jersey wineries, information and tickets. Ticket holders can purchase wine by the glass or by the bottle.
