South Jersey Robotics is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2008 by adult volunteers. The mission is to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through the creation of a sustainable, robust robotics program in Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland Counties in NJ. SJR started with one high school team and now supports ten teams made up of elementary, middle and high school students.
The students work with mentors to learn math, science, writing, business, finance, computer science and fabrication skills as they compete in the FIRST® Lego League, FIRST® Tech Challenge and FIRST® Robotics Challenge.
Continued support from local communities is the key to the students’ successes. To show support and to learn more about being a sponsor, mentor or to join the teams, please email South Jersey Robotics at sjrobotics@gmail.com.
