WEST DEPTFORD — The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced that the Annual Senior Citizen Picnic will be held on Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Red Bank Battlefield Park in National Park. The rain date is Sept. 18.
Lunch, music, live entertainment and dance contests will be presented throughout the day with a Philly, Philly theme. Seniors attending are encouraged to wear their favorite Philadelphia sports team gear.
The event will feature a dunk tank and seniors can take a shot to dunk Freeholder Jim Jefferson in the water tank. In keeping with the “Philly” theme, Philly pretzels, ice cream and water ice will be available.
The picnic is open to residents 60 years and older. Tickets are $2 each and are available at the Division of Senior Services at 115 Budd Blvd, West Deptford and the county’s six nutrition sites. The ticket price helps defray the cost of the event, which is funded with the Title III Older Americans Act area grant.
