Adults:

Sewing classes for adults and teens – Wednesdays, Oct. 7, 14, 21, & 28 – 3:30 p.m.Must have some beginning sewing. Simple projects will be made or bring your own project. Space is limited. Please register.

Rubber Stamping – Tuesday, Oct. 13 – 6:30 p.m. Create your own stamped wrapping paper. Space is limited.

Tea Tasting – Wednesday, Oct. 14 – 6 p.m. Join us for Amelia’s Teas. Learn about different types of teas and their health benefits. Space is limited. Please register!

Adult Book Club – Join us for our adult book club that meets on the last Tuesday of each month. This month’s selection will be Killing Kennedy by Bill O’Reilly. October’s date is Tuesday, Oct. 27 – 7 p.m.

Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Book Club – Thursday, Oct. 8 – 7 p.m. Join our fun discussion group and read some great selections! This month’s selection will be The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Anderson.  Bring a friend.

Teen/Tween Writers’ Club – Monday, Oct. 12 – 7 p.m.If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. Your writing could be part of our new quarterly teen/tween literary magazine, Teen Express.  Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us Thursday, Oct. 15 – 6:30 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!

Service Opportunity – Make a fleece blanket – Tuesday, Oct. 20 – 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make a fleece blanket. The blanket will be donated to a child at the Children’s Hospital (CHOP).

Anime Club – Monday, Oct. 26 – 4 p.m. Enjoy like-minded lovers of Anime and Manga. View an Anime movie, play Yugioh and Pokémon, trade cards, and/or draw Manga characters. Feel free to dress in character. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities.  Do you enjoy writing? Learn to write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Children:

Amazing Math Club (STEM) – Thursday, Oct. 1 – 7 p.m.  – 4th to 6th graders are invited the first Mondays of each month – math games, challenges, vocabulary, and more!

FURever As Friends – Register your child to read to a trained therapy dog for a 15 minute time slot – This month’s date will be Mondays, Oct. 5 and 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. On the Oct. 19 we’ll have some Howlaween Fun.  Our animals and their handlers will be dressed up and will provide treats. Feel free to dress up! Please register by calling 467-0111 or at the library. If it’s your first time, please stop at the circulation desk.

Coding – Learn beginning Computer Coding Skills with Scratch – Monday, Oct. 19 – 4 p.m.

Halloween Blast! – Thursday, Oct. 29 – 6:30 p.m. Join us – wear your costume! We’ll have crafts, refreshments, and games, as well as a costume contest for cutest, most original, scariest, and funniest.

Maker Space days –  Staff will surprise children with a project from our Maker Space cart! Best suited for 1st through 6th grade. Be checking our October online calendar for dates.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time!  We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, Oct. 6, 13, 20, & 27). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Special Musical Story Time with Grandfather Joe – Tuesday, Oct. 20 – 10:30 a.m. Grandfather Joe will have your toddler singing, dancing, and clapping!

Wednesday Story TimeWednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. October’s dates are Oct. 7, 14, 21, & 28 – Library meeting Room. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 1 & 15 – 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s date is Thursdays, Oct. 8 & 22– 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

Literacy Buddies – The Literacy Program provides one-on-one assistance to children learning English, phonics and reading skills, and math and Language Arts. Children interested in having a literacy buddy during the 2013-2014 school year should contact the library at 467-0111. Teens interested in being a literacy buddy, please contact the library.

The library will be closed on Friday, October 2, 2015, for Staff Development Day.
