BRIDGETON — The 1st Annual Robot Run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 in and around the beautiful City Park in Bridgeton.
This is a fundraising and awareness event for South Jersey Robotics. The Robot Run is a 5K run/walk and a 2K family walk, plus a robot race. There will be refreshments, family entertainment, access to the free Cohansey Zoo right in the park, access to the new miniature golf course, and more.
Please support SJR and participate in this day of exercise and fun.
Why is South Jersey Robotics having a Robot Run? South Jersey Robotics SJR is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2008 by adult volunteers to expand robotics into South Jersey. They started with one team and are now supporting ten teams and growing.
SJR hopes to build lifelong skills in our students, enable them to expand their horizons, and help them be successful in their future career paths. Their mission is to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through a sustainable, robust robotics program in Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties and beyond.
The Robot Run is set in an effort to provide equal opportunity for STEM and Robotics fun within the tri-county socio-economic barrier. SJR offers students an opportunity to work with and learn from professionals from many careers and gain access to over $20 million in scholarships.
SJR members are recruited for internships and jobs by top colleges and major companies like DuPont, PSEG and Boeing. Members develop confidence to pursue their dreams.
