FREE GED/HSE Preparation and Testing – Tuesdays, Feb. 11, 18, & 25, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays, Feb. 12, 19, & 26, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The classes are for High School Equivalency preparation and testing. Job Readiness Program:

50 Top Interview Questions & Applications – Wednesday, Feb. 12 – 1:30 to 3 p.m. Meet with an expert and learn the 50 most asked interview questions and receive guidance on the best way to answer. Dress for Success & Interview Etiquette – Wednesday, Feb. 19 – 1:30 to 3 p.m. Learn from an expert what to wear for a job interview. Also receive interview etiquette tips and suggestions. Be sure to check our online calendar for changes.

Needle Arts: Crochet, Knit or Sew Night! – Tuesdays, Feb. 18 7 p.m. Learn how to sew, knit or crochet or get help with your own project. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org

Langston Hughes: I Too Have a Song to Sing – Thursday, Feb. 6 – 7 p.m. Join us for this educational presentation on the works and life of Langston Hughes as portrayed by Keith Henley. This program is made possible in partnership with the New Jersey Council for the Humanities Public Scholars Project. Please be sure to register for this event at www.gcls.org.

Yoga for Everyone – Fridays, Feb. 7 & 21 – 10:30 a.m. Learn basic yoga positions, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. Please bring your own mat or towel and water to drink.Space is limited, be sure to register.

Adult Craft – Create your own unique plate using fabric – Wednesday, Feb. 12 – 7 p.m. Space is limited so be sure to register.

Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Book Club – Saturday, Feb. 8 – 11 a.m. February’s selection will be Story Thieves by James Riley.  Be sure to register at www.gcls.org

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, Feb. 10 – 7 p.m.  The Writer’s club will be on the second Monday of each month. The time will be devoted to writing! You can work on your own writing or pull ideas from our binder. Your writings may be published in our Teen Express Literary Magazine.

Mosaic Craft with M&M’s – Thursday, Feb. 13 – 7 p.m. Best suited for ages 9-12. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, Feb. 20 – 6:30-8 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time!         

Anime Club – Monday, Feb. 24 – 5 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Monday at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters. Register at www.gcls.org.

Literacy Buddies – We are looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy. Teens can work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, math, homework, or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information or stop in and fill out a volunteer form.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.  

Children:

FURever as Friends –   Monday, Feb. 17 6:30-8 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush their coat, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks!  Registration is not required. Permission slips to visit our animals are available at the front desk.

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer. Literacy buddies traditionally takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4-5 p.m. Let us know which day is best for you.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Storytime (Laugh n’ Learn) – Storytime is a fun time! Listen to stories, sing songs, and make a craft!  We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. February’s storytime dates are Feb. 11, 18, & 25.  Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5Registration is required. 

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time is held on Thursday, Feb. 20 – 10:30 a.m. Space is limited, registration is required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, Feb. 13 & 27 – 10:30 a.m. Registration is required as space is limited.

Saturday Storytime – Feb. 8, 10:30 a.m. – Listen to stories, songs, and make a craft with your little one! Ages 2-5. 

Kitchen Science – Feb. 10, 4 p.m. – A cooking program for growing minds! We will be making Cherry Heart Pies. Ingredients include gluten, flour, cherries, and sugar. Ages 6-12. Please register.

FURever As Friends Reading Program – Feb. 10, 6:30 p.m. Read to a specially trained certified therapy animal provided by Silent Mentors in Literacy Education! Register for a time slot in person, via email or phone. Contact Miss Stephanie at ssmith@gcls.org or 856-687-7072 for more information.

Little Learners – Feb. 12, 4 p.m. A S.T.E.A.M. based program for little minds! We’ll be making lovebugs, Valentine’s Day cards, and playing a game. Ages 4-6. Please register.

NEW! Teen Craft Café – Feb. 14, 3 p.m. – Treat Yo’ Self to a party that celebrates you. Make a craft, play games, and decorate brownies. Ages 13-17.

New! Baby Storytime – Feb. 13, 10:30 a.m. – Listen to stories, songs, and color with your little one. Ages 2 and under.

Crazy Cool Creations – Feb. 19, 4 p.m. – A S.T.E.A.M based program for growing minds! We’ll be weaving straws and yarn to make bracelets. Ages 6-12. 

New! Maker Monday – Feb. 17, 6:30 p.m. – Explore Snap Circuits, build 3-D objects, learn how to code and more! Ages 6-12. We will meet in the Young Adult area.
