RANDALL — James Randall, 59, of Logan Township passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 27. He had been enduring health issued for several years.
Jim grew up in Brigantine and Ocean City, New Jersey and was an avid sailor and started at age 7. Some of his favorite memories included the Brigantine Yacht Club and the small town feeling he enjoyed. In recent years, he hasn’t been able to sail his GP14 or sunfish, however belonged to the Cooper River Yacht Club in the 90’s and sailed a Catalina 22 on the Chesapeake Bay in the 80’s.
Jim was the youngest of six children and pre-deceased by his oldest brother, Leslie “Pete” in 1943 in addition to his parents Leslie and Joan Randall.
Jim attended Holy Spirit High in Absecon, New Jersey where he wrestled, played football and was an honors student. Jim received a congressional appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) and graduated in 1978. He sailed around the world during two sea tours and was part of the wrestling, track and sailing teams. One of the great accomplishments of his life was to say that he attended Kings Point.
Following graduation, Jim worked for the Military Sealift Command, Army Corp of Engineers and Sunoco in 1979 where he remained until his 2005 disability. He sailed the tankers in California, Texas and other areas as a chief mate and obtained his Unlimited Masters and Delaware River Pilot’s Licenses. Jim used his license as a port captain at Fort Mifflin and Hog Island. He also worked as a Cargo Master in Marcus Hook, PA and Vetting manager in Philadelphia. He was well respected and liked as an employee.
Jim was a member of the Trinity “Old Swedes” Episcopal Church vestry, where he has been a member since 1993. He was a very dedicated member of the church and took part in many of the decisions made. Jim was also a leader of Troop 4 in Logan Township and watched his son, Jonathan grow from a Tiger Cub to an Eagle Scout. Many parents and former scouts remember his dedication and kind spirit, warmth and compassion towards the scouts. They also remember him being the “Knot Tying” expert and many camping weekends at Camp Grice and Roosevelt.
Jim enjoyed watching the Alaskan shows, NCIS, and the History Channel. He was very knowledgeable on history and won all of the Trivial Pursuit Games in the past. He and his wife moved to Logan Township in 1988.
Jim is survived by his wife and longtime love of 34 years, Lynne, and three children: Jonathan, 24, Jacqueline, 24, and Joanie, 20. He also has four siblings that include Roger (Peggy) of Marlton, Willard (Nancy) of Burlington, VT. Peggy Murphy of Annapolis, MD, and Peter (Diane) of Davie, FL and DE. Jim had several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law who adored him. He had a kindness and sweetness that was endearing. When Jim walked into a room, people took notice due to his wonderful qualities. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

FARRELL — Born, July 23, 1930, Anita Farrell of Mickleton passed away peacefully in her home on Sept. 27, 2015. Anita graduated from John W. Hallahan High School. She was the proud mother of eight children. After working as a bookkeeper much of her life, she retired as co-owner of Kelly Cable in 1994. Throughout her life, Anita loved to volunteer. She was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Mother’s Club, CYO and most recently, at Underwood Hospital in Woodbury, NJ.
Anita was the second eldest of Gordon and Eleanor (Smith) Barth of Fishtown, Philadelphia and her siblings include: Eleanor McAneny (Frank), Eileen Farrell (Larry), Madge Henry (Jim), Joan Barth-James (Bob). Anita is survived by her children: Maureen Cadorette, Patti Clark (Joe), Karen Green (Tom), Michele Kelly (Bill), Kate Farrell, Anita Teufel (Jim), Tim Farrell (Robyn). Her grandchildren: Kellie and Kyle Green, David and Daniel Clark, Daniel, Kat, Megan Farrell and Emily Downing. Her beloved son, William Farrell, Jr. died in April 2011. (Mary Farrell). RODRIGUEZ — Norma Rodriguez, 48. There was never any question about her first priority. Even in the hospital undergoing treatments Norma was focused on the wellbeing of her boys and her heart soared when she got to see her first grandchild, Jayden. Norma knew that the ear was a powerful thing. She kept the conversation moving, offering up her own thoughts but she was just as curious about what you had to say. She loved animals, the color yellow and crime shows but there is one thing that trumped them all…food. As sure as Mikey liked it, so did Norma. She was the go-to parent on the boardwalk, since Norma did all the rides. There is one thing that was clear to everyone and that was her love for her family.
Through a friend she’d meet a guy named Latney Bagby. Their relationship was blessed with two boys, Latney, Jr. and Carlos. She is survived by her parents, Ramonita and George Mendoza, siblings, Jimmy Mendoza, Tony Mendoza, Nancy Rodriguez, Migdalia (Bruce) Wilcox, Jorge Mendoza, Jr. and Diane Mendoza (Robert Tuppeny); 19 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.

GAUNT — Doris M. Gaunt, age 92, of Mullica Hill, passed away Monday, Oct. 12. Doris was born in Mullica Hill, grew up in Barnsboro and was a graduate of Pitman High School Class of 1940. She was a charter member of the Mullica Hill Woman’s Club, member of the Auxiliary of Robert W. Mills American Legion Post #452, and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Doris was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed spending her summers in Ocean City, NJ.
Doris is survived by her two daughters Lois (Jim) Laning of Mullica Hill and Marion Maccherone of Mantua. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chris (Kristen) Laning of Elkton (Maryland), Jason (Donna) Laning of Glassboro, Amy Maccherone of New Orleans, Tom Maccherone of Mullica Hill, and great-grandchildren Jamie, Paige, Kylee, Jon, Kendall, and Cadey. Doris is predeceased by her parents, Anna and Russell Carre and her brother Walter Carre.

SEYBOLD — Donald C. Seybold, Sr., 74, of Mullica Hill, formerly of Audubon, NJ, was called back home to be with God on Oct. 14, at home.
In 1964, Don was employed with A&P Markets, where he met his wife Kathy. Don served honorably and retired from the Army after 26 years of service. He then worked with the federal government at Ft. Dix for 20 years. He was a member of the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit and the Knights of Columbus.
Don was a devoted and beloved husband for 50 years of Kathleen (nee Tourtual), loving father of Kathleen Lehman (Ken) of Langhorne, PA, Donald C. Seybold, Jr. of Audubon, NJ, Michael J. Seybold (Barbara) of Audubon, NJ and his late son Kevin J. Seybold also of Audubon, NJ. Don was the loving and devoted grandfather of Tommy, Kenny, Josh, Taylor, Rebecca, Timmy, Lauren and Michael, Jr. Dear brother of Ralph F., James E. and Paul T. Seybold. CASTOR — James Richard Castor, “Jim” of Clarksboro, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15. He was aged 66 years.
Born in Wilmington, NC, Jim was raised in Magnolia, NJ. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Following his service time, Jim returned home and married Maryann Andaloro and together they shared 44 years of marital bliss, raising two sons that completed their family circle. Jim was the owner of Red Bank Mobil in West Deptford for nearly 37 years serving residents of Gloucester County
Among Jim’s passions were fishing, boating and appreciation of antique cars. Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family creating memories that they will now cherish as his legacy. Jim is the beloved husband of Maryann (nee Andaloro); dear father of Frank and Jimmy; also survived by four siblings.

WETZEL — Barbara A. Wetzel, age 67 of Southside Alabama, formerly of Mullica Hill, NJ was called back home to be with God on Oct. 15, at home. Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Woodbury High School. She enjoyed fishing and thrift shopping.
She was the daughter of the late Francis and June Smith (nee Adams), of National Park, NJ. Barbara is survived by husband Charles, daughter Amy Davis and her husband Brian, also predeceased by son Charlie. Grandson Jacob Davis and granddaughter Kamryn Davis, the loves of her life. Siblings Joan Marchevsky (George), Francis Smith (Eileen), Dorothy Trautner, Kathleen Lowry (Kenny), Donna Villari (Sam), Christine Villari (Joe), Kenneth Smith (Claire), Lorraine Capone (Lou), Thomas Smith (Rhonda) and Phyllis Derolf (Ken), 26 nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews.
Barbara loved to fish and run fishing tournament trails. She fished on the women’s fishing trails, Bass’n Gals and Lady Bass in the 1980’s and 90’s. Barbara was the founder and director of Coosa River Team Trail. After every tournament Barbara would say how blessed she was to have such great fisherman and friends on the trail. They were like her second family. She truly enjoyed what she did. She would like to thank all members the CRTT. She will be dearly missed by all. DeVAULT — Howard R. DeVault, age 94 years of Mt. Royal died Friday Oct. 16 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. DeVault was born in Clarksboro, on July 18, 1921. He worked as a truck mechanic for Chemical Lehman Tankline in Bridgeport until he retired in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Knabe) DeVault; his children, Donna Fagan and Arthur DeVault; his grandchildren, William Blemings, Stephanie Blemings, Charles DeVault, and Kenyon DeVault; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Blemings and J.J. Repas.

SHIVELER — Russell C. Shiveler, age 88 years, died Tuesday Oct. 20 at his Woolwich Twp. home and passed to the comfort of God’s Kingdom.
He was born on the Oak Grove family farm, son of the late Walter and Lillian Shiveler, and lived his whole life in the Swedesboro area. Russell was a long time employee of Monsanto Chemical Co., but his true labor of love was working on the family farm and in his garden tending and harvesting strawberries, peas and other vegetables. He also spent untold hours as the caretaker of Old Stone Church. With his brother, George Shiveler, Mike Homan, Marvin Dare, and Jack Wright, he was part of the committee which patiently completed the restoration of this historic structure just in time for its bicentennial celebration. He was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Repaupo and Swedesboro.
Russell is survived by his loving family: his wife of 62 years Mary (Simkins),: his three children and their spouses, Elaine and Stephen Murphy, Russell and Kathy Shiveler, Donna and Greg Paranto, and six grandchildren: Daniel Murphy and Stephanie Murphy, Sara Shiveler, David Shiveler, Nicholas Paranto and Alyssa Paranto. He was greatly comforted in his last days by their tender care and by their heartfelt prayers. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Linnekin and Marie Young. He was predeceased by six brothers : Lewis, Norman, Earle, Archer, George and Walter (Pat), and two sisters, Francis Stewart and Ruth Shiveler.
