Swedesboro Parade Ushers In The Holiday Season, Nov. 28

christmas parade.inddSWEDESBORO — Kings Highway will be alive with Christmas cheer as Swedesboro celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m.

The parade will take place on Kings Highway, beginning at Walter Hill School and will continue all the way through the downtown where it will end at Church Street. The Greater Swedesboro Business Association sponsored parade will feature a variety of floats, music, and of course, an appearance by Santa Claus.

“We’ve had a great response from the business community this year and there will be a lot of nice floats, including a few brand new Swedesboro and Woolwich businesses. I also want families to know they are welcome to participate in the parade as well. It’s a great project for kids and a great way to spend family time,” said Parade Chairperson Lauren Dunn of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association.

Groups wishing to participate must register no later than Nov. 20 by contacting Lauren Dunn at 609-560-9711 or the form can be downloaded at www.greatersba.org.

Immediately following the parade, Santa will be visiting with children in the Woolwich Fire House until 4 p.m. The day’s events will wrap up at 6:30 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Swedesboro Borough Hall.

In the case of heavy rain, the parade will be postponed until Dec. 5.
