Lannon Arrested in St. Louis

WOODBURY — Sean Lannon, a person of interest in the murder of an East Greenwich resident on March 8, was arrested this morning in St. Louis, Missouri by members of the U.S. Marshal’s St. Louis Metro Fugitive Task Force.

Lannon was also a suspect in a quadruple murder in New Mexico and a break in in Elk Township.

Acting Gloucester County Prosecutor Christine Hoffman and New Jersey United States Marshal Juan Mattos jointly made the announcment of the arrest.

Prosecutor Hoffman indicates that upgraded charges against Lannon regarding the homicide in East Greenwich Township are forthcoming.       

This investigation remains active and Detectives believe there are additional witnesses who can provide crucial information to aid and further this investigation.  The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office encourages any witnesses with information regarding this crime to call Sgt. Prosecutor Hoffman indicates, “The rapid and successful apprehension of Lannon is the direct result of excellent collaboration between a wide array of local, county, state and federal partners. We are particularly grateful to the U.S. Marshal’s New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force/Camden Division as well as their parallel jurisdictions between New Jersey and Missouri for deploying their resources to rapidly apprehend Lannon, who was clearly a direct threat to the public.”

Marshal Mattos has stated “The identification, tracking and rapid arrest of Lannon was undertaken in the longstanding and finest traditions of the US Marshal’s Service.  The USMS always stands ready to aid our law enforcement partners to ensure that jurisdictional and geographical boundaries do not slow down the critical efforts of law enforcement to apprehend and remove violent offenders from the street.”

Prosecutor Hoffman also comments, “While the wide array of specific law enforcement and social service agencies involved in this investigation will become clearer moving forward, the Prosecutor and investigative staff at the GCPO are also grateful and deeply appreciative of contributions made to this ongoing investigation by members of the community and the media.”
