St. Peter’s Episcopal Church to Host Basket Extravaganza

CLARKSBORO — Friday evening, Oct. 1 marks the First Annual Basket Extravaganza at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and you will have an hour to tour the baskets and drop tickets to have the opportunity to win that prize. Winning basket numbers will begin to be called at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person and include a sheet of auction tickets as well as one dessert and beverage ticket for each person. Additional auction tickets can also be purchased. Tickets for the “special” prizes will be sold for $5 each or $15 for 4.

The congregation has been searching throughout the summer for the perfect items to fill more than 25 baskets of all sizes and varieties. These baskets are a perfect hostess, birthday or house warming gift. You might want to put one away for someone special for Christmas.

The baskets cover a wide range of themes and interests. Are you someone who enjoys eating out? Perhaps you would like to win the “Taste of Gloucester County” basket containing gift cards to local restaurants.

How about something for the beer lover in your family? Beer flights and craft beers are on tap for you. If you are a homebody, we have baskets that will provide all of the essentials for an at home movie night. Ice cream, books, travel, cakes, cookies, Christmas and more.

There is something for everyone.

In addition, there are lots of other interesting prizes that will stand on their own, from a set of nesting bowls, a variety of serving dishes for the hostess, to a 3D Harry Potter Puzzle, a stunning marble cutting board from Vermont and more.

Big prizes include a boy’s bike, a TV, quilt and some other surprises.

Since the Covid 19 Virus is still a factor in all of our lives, and we know that some people are uncomfortable around crowds, we are hosting a “Walk Through Day” where you can see all of the baskets and gifts and drop your tickets into the cans without having crowds around.

You will be able to enjoy our “Walk Through Day” on Thursday, Sept. 30 from 10 to 1 p.m. or from 7 to 9 p.m. Masks will be required.

For those who want to be in the center of the action, everyone is invited and encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages. Dessert and beverages will be provided with your ticket. Masks will be mandatory for all visitors and volunteers entering the building.

Photos of all baskets, and a list of the content of each basket, as well as pictures of all other prizes, will be available on our website beginning on Monday, Sept. 20. To view the baskets please go to www.stpetersclarksboro.org

For more information, or to inquire about purchasing a ticket in advance, please contact the church office at office@stpetersclarksboro.org
