Feb. 3: Officers responded to U-Haul on Heron Drive for a Theft report. It was reported that two catalytic converters were stolen from two moving trucks sometime overnight. Value of the Theft is approx. $3,200.

Feb. 7: Officers were dispatched to the railroad tracks behind Progress Court for a Theft report. It was reported that two suspects were seen stealing scrap metal from property belonging to SMS Railroad. SMS Railroad advised that thefts have been occurring over the last several months. Value of the scrap metal is estimated at $135,000. The suspects left prior to police arrival.

Feb. 8: Officers responded to Amazon on Commerce Blvd. for a Theft report. It was reported that several spools of copper wire were taken from that location. The estimated value of the wire is $3,000.

Feb. 9: Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on I-295. While conducting this stop, Officers observed a prescription bottle with the label peeled off. Further investigation revealed this prescription was not the driver’s, which led to the arrest of the 28-year-old Oaklyn man for Possession of Prescription Pills. He was processed and released on summons pending a future court date.

Feb. 10: Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Barker Avenue after noticing the driver slumped over the wheel in the middle of the roadway. While conducting the stop, Officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from the driver. After performing field sobriety tests, the 40-year-old Chester, Pa. man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was processed and turned over to a third party with a pending court date.

Feb. 10: Officers responded to Tractor Supply on Center Square Road for a Shoplifting complaint. It was reported that two suspects stole a generator from the store and left without paying. The value of the generator is $800.

Feb. 12: Officers responded to Tractor Supply for a Theft report. It was reported that an employee had been stealing items from the store over the last few months. These items were then sold at pawn shops. The 38-year-old Deptford man was charged with Theft. He was arrested in Deptford, and after being processed, he was turned over to the Salem County Jail. The value of the stolen items is estimated at $4,000.

Feb. 12: Officers responded to the Target Warehouse on Creekview Avenue for a motor vehicle complaint with damage to property. While speaking with the driver of the suspect vehicle, Officers detected an odor of alcohol and had the driver perform several field sobriety tests. The Officer’s investigation led to the arrest of a 51-year-old Holmes, Pa. man for Driving Under the Influence. He was processed and released to a third party pending a future court date.

Feb. 14: Officers responded to a construction site on Rt. 322 for a Theft report. It was reported that over the weekend someone entered the site and stole electrical wire valued at $8,000.

Feb. 17: Officers responded to the Holiday Inn on Pureland Drive for a Theft report. It was reported that sometime over the past week, someone removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle. The estimated value of the converter is $750.

Feb. 18: Officers responded to Wawa on Center Square Road for a Theft report. It was reported that the same suspect returned multiple times to get gas and left without paying. Total amount of gas stolen is $50.81.

Feb. 19: Officers responded to Center Square Road and the I-295 overpass for a motor vehicle crash. While investigating the crash, they determined that one of the drivers was under the influence. After conducting tests and concluding their investigation, the 36-year-old West Deptford woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. She was released to a third party on a summons pending a future court date.

Feb. 24: Officers responded to a Quail Ridge residence for a Criminal Mischief report. It was reported that sometime overnight, three tires on the victim’s vehicle had been slashed. Estimated value of the damage is $600.

Feb. 24: Officers received a report of Theft that occurred at the construction site on Crossroads Boulevard. It was reported that someone entered the property overnight and stole several wire wheels valued at approx. $4,000.

Feb. 24: Officers responded to a construction site on Rt. 322 for a Theft report. It was reported that someone entered the property overnight and stole ten spools of wire valued over $7,500.

Feb. 26: Officers assisted the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office with an investigation. This investigation led to the arrest of a 32-year-old-Logan Twp. man for Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Magazine over the legal capacity and possession of hollow point bullets. The suspect was lodged in the Salem County jail pending a future court date.
