Local team places 13th in Nation for robotics

WOOLWICH TWP. — Anthony Rowlyk and Alden Wolk finished thirteenth in the National Skills USA Mobile Robotics Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. The pair, juniors at Gloucester County Institute of Technology, represented New Jersey as its number 1 ranked team in the state.

Rowlyk is a resident of Woolwich Township, and Wolk resides in Sewell. Rowlyk is in the Engineering Program, and Wolk studies Computer Science. Both are members of the National Technical Honors Society. This is Wolk’s second year as the NJ state champion, and Rowlyk’s first.

SkillsUSA’s mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens. The high school students improve the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of SkillsUSA Framework skills that include personal, workplace, and technical skills grounded in academics.
