On March 8, students in area schools celebrated Reading Across American with a variety of readers. At the Harker School in Woolwich Township, students were able to read to four legged helpers. Studies have shown that reading to pets can motivate children to read and give them confidence with a judgment free listener. Elvis, Carson, Valda, Luna, Callie, Meadow, Strider, Willow, Aubrey, Oak, Brynn, Laney, Paige, and Bentley all leant their feline and canine furry ears to listen to students and take part in the fun of the day.
