The Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks & Recreation Committee would like to extend our thanks to Perfect Day Photography for sponsoring the face painter at Family Fun Day on May 18. We were pleased with the attendance despite the rainy weather. Grandpop Bubbles was a crowd favorite again.
FREE MOVIE NIGHT
There is a free movie night on Friday, June 28 (rain date is June 29) at Woolwich Township Municipal Building front lawn featuring “Migration”. Migration is rated PG and runs for 83 minutes. It is an action, adventure, animation and comedy movie.
The story follows a family of mallards who try to convince their overprotective father to go on a vacation of a lifetime and attempt to migrate from New England, through New York City, to Jamaica.
Remember to bring your chairs, blankets and refreshments. There is no need to register for this event.
CORNHOLE TOURNEY
There will be a Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 10 at DiBella Winery starting at 5 p.m. In addition to the tournament, there will be food trucks and live music plus fun kids’ activities.
Grab your partner (ages 12 & up to play) and come show off your skills at this family friendly, fun evening with your chance at prizes for the top teams.
To register for the tournament, go to dibellawinery.com. Register early and save. The tournament cost increases on Aug. 1. The rain date is Aug. 11.
Food, wine, sangria and water will be available for purchase.
FALL EVENTS
We are preparing for the fall events at this time. Some events planned include Cellphone Sally and Friends (Sept. 7), Hands Only CPR Class (Sept. 21), Bus Trip to Historic Lititz, PA (Oct. 1) plus much more. Please like our Facebook page to see all of our upcoming events.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 4, since the committee does not meet in July and August.
