Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Upcoming Events

swed wool parks web31WOOLWICH TWP. — The weather is getting nicer so plan to attend the Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Rec’s Golf Clinics on Sunday, April 24 at the Town and Country Golf Club in Woodstown.

There will be two clinics offered. The first clinic is a Children’s Clinic for children aged 7 and older. The cost for this clinic is $20 per child. The second clinic is a Parent and Child Golf Clinic from 12 noon to 2p.m. The cost is $35 for both one parent and one child. An extra child for this clinic cost $20 per child.

All children must be accompanied by a parent. Town & Country Golf Club is located at 197 East Avenue in Woodstown. To purchase tickets, go to http://swparksandrec.ticketleap.com/golf-clinic/.

If the weather is bad the morning of the clinics, please check the Parks and Rec Facebook page at 8 a.m. for possible cancellation notice. If the event is cancelled, a refund will be processed via Ticket Leap.

HEALTH FAIR

The Health, Wellness and Safety Family Fun Fair will be held on Saturday, Saturday, April 23 at the Kingsway Regional High School from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This is a free community event, and it is bigger and better.

The fair will be completely interactive with hands-on experience with educational games or demonstrations and screenings along with health, wellness or safety related give-a-ways. There will be scheduled lectures in the Eitel Theater.

There will be a Healthy Recipe Contest. To enter the contest, bring your recipe and five samples of it to the fair. The judging will begin 12:15 p.m. and there will be a winner from each category.

The Swedesboro Woolwich Little Theater will host “Laughter is the Best Medicine”. Adults and children are invited to bring a family-friendly joke to tell.

Also bring your bikes and helmets for a Bike Rodeo hosted by the Woolwich Township Police.

Participants can learn how to save lives with demonstrations of defibrillators and CPR. Gloucester County EMS will review first aid care. Swedesboro Woolwich Fire Company will have a demonstration to see what it feels like inside a smoke-filled room and what to do to save your life.

Other activities include information to protect your planet with earth awareness tips and fun, and much more. There is a contest to encourage the youth of our district to attend this event. The Swedesboro Woolwich School District class earning the most points at the Health Fair will earn their teacher a special gift. Swedesboro Woolwich School teachers are encouraged to send your students to the fair to earn points for the class.

There will be one class winner for each grade in Swedesboro Woolwich District School. The classes will be invited to a special movie night celebration with prizes. In addition, any Kingsway Regional School District student that attends can win prizes too.

SUMMER CAMP

The Fifth Annual Summer Camp Connection Night will be held on Saturday, April 23 at the Kingsway Regional High School Cafeteria from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Please note this event will occur at the Health, Wellness and Safety Family Fun Fair. This event is open to all residents of surrounding communities, not just Swedesboro Woolwich.

SPRING FLING

The First Annual Spring Fling will take place on April 30 at High Hill Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This event is a fundraiser to purchase additional playground equipment for Locke Ave Park.

Bring your chairs and blankets, but don’t plan on sitting down. You’ll spend the evening dancing to three different cover bands performing some of the greatest hits from yesterday through today. This is a great idea for date night and plan to come for dinner.

There will be beer, wine, and food available for purchase. $20 per ticket available online only. No coolers will be permitted into the event.

Parking will be at Locke Ave Park. All attendees will enter High Hill Park via the pedestrian bridge. Everyone must bring Photo ID to the event. Upon review of ID and ticket purchase receipt, attendees will be given a wristband.

FUN DAY

Locke Ave Fun Day is now Locke Ave Fun DAYS! We have expanded the event to two days: Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15. There will be more rides, more activities, and more fun!

Tickets and two day unlimited ride wristbands will be sold at the event. Fun Days promises to offer entertainment for the entire family starting at 12 noon on Saturday. There will be a main stage for musical acts and a local showcase amphitheater.

Vendors will line the walkways, and there will be a variety of yummy food. A magnificent fireworks display will cap off the evening at 9 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the event starts at 12 noon and ends at 6 p.m.

Parents will like the free petting zoo and family friendly acts including Mr. Malcolm on our main stage. A full entertainment schedule will be posted on the Parks and Rec page of www.woolwichtwp.org . Vendor forms are also available on the site.

We can hardly wait for all the fun!
