SWEDESBORO — This is the 41st year that the people of the greater Swedesboro area are coming together to help others who are in need.
The venue may have changed but the dedication of volunteers has not. For those wishing to volunteer this year please note the location will be Bethesda Methodist 1435 Kings Highway. Monday Dec. 16 we are sorting of food, Wednesday, Dec. 18 we are packing, Thursday, Dec. 19, we are sorting gifts. All days will start at 6 p.m. Distribution will be Dec. 21, 9 a.m.
This year “mittens’’ with a child’s age and gender will be available at several churches, King’s Things Thrift and Furniture Stores, as well as several merchants including Sprit Dodge. If you select a mitten, you can buy and return the wrapped gift with the mitten attached to King’s Things.
Some families and organizations have asked to adopt a family. If you wish to do this, please contact Kings Things know. Applications for this Christmas program are available at the thrift store and were distributed at the Turkey Drive-Thru.
This year does not allow for much time between Thanksgiving and the distribution date. With the team of JoAnn, Joanna, MaryBeth, Dan and Virginia and the cooperation of the weatherman, it should be Merry Christmas.
