FURever As Friends Reading Program: Tuesdays March 18 at 6:30 p.m.A group of volunteers bring their specially trained therapy dogs to the library for children to read. All ages. Registration and one-time permission slip required.

Baby Storytimes: Wednesdays, March 12, 19 & 26 at 10:15 a.m. Our littlest patrons can join us for songs, stories, and bubbles! Ages 0 to 2. Please register.

Movement Storytime: Wednesdays, March 12, 19 & 26 at 11 a.m.Please bring a yoga mat or a towel and join us for stories that will incorporate yoga poses and movement as we read. Ages 2 to 5. Please register.

Homeschool STEM Club: Wednesday, March 5 at 1p.m.Learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math skills while having fun and meeting other homeschooling families.  We will be doing new activities every month. Ages 6 to 12. Please register.

Family Lego Night: Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m.Make incredible creations with family and friends and conquer our brick-building challenges! All ages. Please register. All ages welcome.

Big Kid Storytime: Thursday, March 13 & 27 at 4:30 p.m.Calling all first and second graders! Enjoy a storytime just for you! Each month we will read books, sing silly songs, and create crafts. Ages 6 to 8. Please register.

Bad Art Night: Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m.Let your creativity loose at Bad Art Night. Try and make the worst art you possibly can! Ages 9 to 12. Please register.

Adult Virtual/Hybrid Programs: 

Socrates Café: Thursdays, March 13, 20 & 27 at 10:30 a.m.Join us as we pose questions and exchange our thoughts on subjects selected by the group. No formal education in philosophy is needed, just a questioning mind. Attendance is in-person or virtually.

Buttons! Buttons!: Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m.Make yourself and a friend an awesome pinback button! You can draw your own buttons, then wear your art proudly. Everyone gets two free buttons for stopping by during Buttons! Buttons! Please register.

Board and Card Games: Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 1 p.m.Have a fun time playing board games. A variety of games are played each week. 

Knit & Crochet Club: Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 1 p.m.Beginners are always welcome and provided with instruction along with the supplies needed to get started. Bring something you are working on or something you would like to discuss.

Gaming Get-Together: Fridays, March 7, 14, 21 & 28 at 1 p.m.Get together and play a game with other novices at the library! There is a different game highlighted every week. This is a friendly group, but some experience/knowledge of the game is a plus. Please register, as we have limited sets.

Silhouette & Decal Making Certification: March 7 at 2 p.m. & Tuesday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m. Learn to create custom vinyl decals and paper cutouts with our Silhouette Cameo. Once you’ve completed this 1 hour course, you’ll be able to reserve time to use our Silhouette machines at other GCLS locations. Please register.

History Book Club: Monday, March 10 at 7 p.m.Please stop by the circulation desk for this month’s selection, The Girls Who Stepped Out of Line: Untold Stories of the Women Who Changed the Course of World War II by Maj. Gen. Mari K Eder. Please register.

Quilting & Sewing Club: Tuesday, March 11 & 25 at 1 p.m. Learn to quilt or sew! Beginners and experienced quilters are welcome, and experienced quilters are free to bring their project and quilt with some new friends.

3D Printer Certification: Tuesday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. & Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Get certified to use our MakerBot Replicator+ 3D printer, and start your own Maker Movement today. Once you’ve completed this 1 hour course, you’ll be able to reserve time to use our 3D Printers at any GCLS location. Please register.

Crafting with Sandi: Wednesdays, March 12 & 26 at 6:30 p.m. Come join us every second and fourth Wednesday for Crafting with Sandi. Supplies are limited and registration is required.

Chair Yoga: Tuesday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m.  Are you interested in Yoga but getting down on the floor seems inaccessible? Would you like other options and variations for your own body?  This is the perfect class for you! Please register.

Silhouette & Decal Making Reservation: Friday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m.Reserve a 3-hour time slot to use the silhouette and vinyl cutter in the Logan MakerStudio. NJ Makers Day: Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m.Join us on Saturday, March 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we celebrate New Jersey’s rich maker and artistic culture with a fun-filled day of creativity for all ages!

NJ Makers Day Adult Crafts: Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m.Choose from a variety of crafts,1 craft per person. While supplies last.

Make Your Own Teabags: Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m.Learn from Inspirational Horticultural about the best herbs for tea, which plants can be grown for their leaves or flowers, and how to harvest and dry them, along with medicinal properties and fun facts!  

3D Printer Reservation: Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m. Reserve a 2.5-hour time slot to use the 3D printer in the Logan MakerStudio. NOTE: To use the 3D printer, you must first complete a certification course. Contact: LoganMaker@gcls.org for more info.

Read Across America: All month long. Pick up a reading log and record how many minutes you read. The minutes will convert to miles. Return it by the first week of March to see how far we can “read” across the country.

Toddler Storytime: Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Join us for short stories, songs, and a craft appropriate for ages 2 to 3.

Sunset Storytime: 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Join us for Sunset Story time! Any child under the age of 6, and their caregivers are invited to come and join the storybook circle. This event includes listening to short stories, singing, dancing, and themed coloring sheets!

Preschool Storytime: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Join us for short stories, songs, and a craft appropriate for ages 3 to 5.

Lego League: Thursday, March 6 and 20 at 4:30 p.m. Complete building challenges with legos. Ages 6 to 12.

Mommy and Me Workout: Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 11 a.m. Join trainer Sharron Bowen from FITMOMSJ for a total body 45-minute mommy and me workout made by mama athletes for every parent. Workout incorporates body weight, dumbbells, resistance bands and of course, our little ones! Wear athletic apparel and bring a water bottle. For ages to infants to 4 years old. Special Olympics Young Athletes Program: Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Special Olympics Young Athletes is a FREE, inclusive sports program for children ages 2-7. Make it Monday: Monday, March 10 at 4:30 p.m. It’s a MAR10 Day! Build Super Mario characters and play Mario Party. Ages 6 to 12, registration is required.

Music and Movement: Wednesdays, March 12 and 26 at 10:30 a.m. Sing, dance, and play with your little one. Ages 2 to 5. Please register.

Homeschool STEAM Club: Wednesday, March 19 at 12:30 p.m. March goes in like a lion and out like a lamb, which means it’s a crazy weather month! We will be exploring different weather and natural storms with experiments and activities. Ages 3 to 12. Please register.

Teen Events:

Sunrise on the Release Party: Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. Celebrate the release of the latest installment in the Hunger Games series, Sunrise on the Reaping. There will be trivia, themed snacks, and more! Ages 12 to 17, please register.

Teen Book Club: Monday, March 31 at 6 p.m. Book Club led by local teens. This month’s book is My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak. Ages 12 to 17, please register.

  • Make a Clay Duck – Celebrate NJ Maker Day: Make and paint your own duck out of clay.   Step-by-step directions will be provided. Kits are from Creating with Clay, LLC.
  • Make a Spring Sign – Celebrate NJ Maker Day:  This group will be painting/stenciling unique spring signs with Bill Nelson from Board and Brush in Logan Township.
  • Felting – Celebrate NJ Maker Day: This class will teach you how to felt. You’ll go home with one finished project. This class is hosted by Linda McHugh.

Thinking Money for Kids:  Monday, March 24 at 4 p.m. Join us for our Thinking Money for Kids – This is a grant received from ALA (American Library Association) and FINRA (Investor Education Foundation. Children will play games that teach money skills. We will be playing Piggy Bank Theatre. This is recommended for early readers and children who have language skills. Registration requested.

Take-Home Activities

Read and Do Bags!:  Limited to one per child, each bag contains 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes are available while supplies last. Please bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.

Grab and Go Bags for Children: Limited to one per child, each bag includes simple crafts you can do at home! There will be two new crafts per month. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.
