Holiday events you won’t want to miss

The holiday spirit comes to your town with many different events this year.

Swedesboro Parade

The annual Swedesboro Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29.

The parade, sponsored by ShopRite and the Greater Swedesboro Business Association, will begin at 1 p.m. and travel down Kings Highway from the Walter Hill School to Church Street.

Grand Marshal will be Phillies radio announcer and local resident Gregg “the Murph” Murphy. A second “Veteran Parade Marshall” will be a local veteran but the name hasn’t been announced as of this writing.

Local businesses will show off their decorated floats. Some will feature dancing and others singing to get you in the spirit.

Other years have included antique tractors, fire trucks from area companies, dogs, and horses. There will be string bands, the Kingsway band, and different cartoon characters along the parade route to greet the children in the crowds.

This is a popular parade, and traffic will detour around Kings Highway, so be sure to get there early to find parking spaces elsewhere. The parade will be held rain or shine.

The rain date is Sunday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

East Greenwich Tree Lighting
