The Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks & Recreation Committee is winding down 2025 and planning alot of exciting activities for 2026.
Please bring a canned good when you visit Santa at the Holiday Tree Lighting, Fireworks and Food Drive at Locke Ave Park., Dec. 6.
Gingerbread House Decorating Party
Join us for a Gingerbread House Decorating Party on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Woolwich Township Municipal Building. We will be decorating cardboard gingerbread houses with candy and glue. Feel free to bring extra candy for decorating.
The cost is $5 per gingerbread house. Seating is limited, so sign up today. Please visit our Facebook page (Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks and Recreation) for the Ticketleap link.
We will also have a coloring station and light refreshments.
Tree Lighting
All are welcome to join us on Saturday, Dec. 6 starting at 6 p.m. for our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting, fireworks and food drive at Locke Ave Park. 1Santa will be there! Plan to snap a photo of Santa with your children.
When your child visits Santa, please bring a canned good. We are collecting non-perishable items for King’s Things Food Pantry.
There will be free hot chocolate and cookies. The evening will end with a fantastic fireworks show at 8 p.m.
Gingerbread House Contest
All are invited to participate in our Second Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest. This contest is open to everyone, not just Swedesboro or Woolwich residents. To participate, please email Shannon Kilpatrick at skilpatrick@woolwichtwp.org with your name, address and phone number by Dec. 8.
Entries can be delivered to the Woolwich Twp. Construction office starting Monday, Dec. 1 through Wednesday, Dec. 10. Please enter the building through the front doors and go to the Large Conference Room on the left (across from police department).
All gingerbread houses must be picked up by 12 noon on Weds., Dec. 24, or they will be disposed. Any questions, please contact Shannon Kilpatrick (information above).
Entries will be on display for voting starting Thursday, Dec. 11 ending on Monday, Dec. 19 at noon. We will offer one evening voting on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Winners will be announced on Monday, Dec. 22. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place.
Residents must bring a canned good or non-perishable item to the Township Building Construction Office to receive a ballot for voting. One ballot per item.
Each house on display will be assigned a letter. Residents vote for the top three gingerbread houses. Residents can vote more than once. Just bring more donations!
