Woolwich Police Surprised By Thank You Gift For Their Heroic Rescue

WOOLWICH TWP. — Because of their heroic rescue of a 13-year-old boy that fell through the ice into a Woolwich Township retention pond on Jan. 9, Dunkin’ Donuts surprised three officers from the Woolwich Township Police Department with tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles’s game against the San Francisco 49ers courtesy of Dunkin’ Donuts.

In early January, Woolwich officers Sgt. Joseph Rieger, Cpl. Steve Spithaler, and Ptlm. Michael Scambia crawled out on unstable ice and entered frigid water to safely pull the teen.
