New Year, New Opportunities

CLARKSBORO — After a whirlwind December where 160 plus families were fed, and eight families received a “Christmas Miracle” courtesy of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and St. Peter’s Community Pantry, it’s on to a new year and new opportunities.

Like so many times in the past, when help was needed at St. Peter’s Community Pantry, the need was filled. On Jan. 17 when many of our core volunteers had succumbed to the virus that was running rampant through South Jersey, and our Pantry Manager was worried about distribution day, random volunteers showed up to help. If you were one of them, “thank you” for stepping in and stepping up. It was greatly appreciated.

We hope that you will join us on Saturday, Feb. 7 as we host our Annual Spaghetti Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. in support of St. Peter’s Community Pantry. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 years old, and free to children 5 and under.

Dinner consists of salad, spaghetti and meatballs, bread and butter, beverage, and dessert. Tickets can be purchased through Zeffy online at www.stpetersclarksboro.org or are available at the door.

On Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, we will hold our second Messy Church Sunday. This fun-filled adult/child event was a HUGE hit in November, and we are looking forward to seeing even more happy faces spending the afternoon with us.

The theme is LOVE, and we will be making crafts, singing, playing games, and doing science experiments. The event is open to children of all ages and their adult partners. Join us at 4 p.m. and stay with us for the fun.

The event will end with a dinner to be enjoyed together. The afternoon is free.
