SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY

INDROJIT CHATTERJEE

INDROJIT CHATTERJEE, son of Debashish and Dolly Chatterjee of Swedesboro.

School Activities: National Honor Society, Cricket Club, Select Jazz Band, New Jersey Dramatic and Forensics League (NJDFL), Battle of the Bands, and Princeton Model Congress.

Out of School Activities: Philadelphia Youth Sinfonia, Sonorants (band name), South Jersey Band and Orchestra Director’s Association (SJBODA), Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble, New Jersey’s Association of Jazz Education (NJAJE), New Jersey Musician’s Educator’s Association (NJMEA), and top jazz ensemble at the Kimmel Center Jazz Camp of Philadelphia.

Honors/Awards:  Selected first chair for the All South Jersey Wind Ensemble for Percussion, received a Best Solo Award on drums at the Cavalcade of Jazz Regional’s Competition, selected to perform with the All-State Orchestra on percussion, chosen to participate in Quarknet at Rutgers – a national particle physics program, and second place winner for state competition for (NJDFL)

Future Plans: Indrojit plans to attend music school and would like to become a professional jazz artist.

KELSEY HOAGLAND
KELSEY HOAGLAND

KELSEY HOAGLAND, daughter of Michael and Christina Hoagland of Woolwich Township.

School Activities: Varsity track and field, soccer, bowling, and member of the National Honor Society and World Language National Honor Society.

Out of School Activities: Club Soccer for Washington United.

Honors/Awards: Kingsway Spotlight Student of the Month for December 2014, varsity winter and spring track, varsity bowling, and received bronze and silver awards in girl scouts.

Future Plans: Kelsey plans to attend college and study marketing.

ANNIE LANCOS
ANNIE LANCOS

ANNIE LANCOS, daughter of Frankie and Mike Lancos of Mullica Hill.

School Activities: Cheerleading, National Honor Society, Student Council Executive Board, World Language National Honor Society, Student Council Executive Board, STEM Academy, World Wildlife Fund fundraising chair, Student Ambassador, and Peer Facilitator.

Out of School Activities: Girl Scouts and competition cheerleading.

Honors/Awards:  Spotlight Student of the Month in grade 9 for November 2014, Superintendent’s and Principal’s Lists, and Renaissance member.

Future Plans: Annie plans to major in biochemistry with intentions of pursuing a career in medicine.

ANUP SHAH
ANUP SHAH

ANUP SHAH, son of Hitesh and Trupti Shah of Mickleton.

School Activities: National Honor Society Vice President, World Language National Honor Society, Foreign Language Club President, Student Council Executive Board, Habit for Humanity Build Chair, Peer Facilitator, Student Ambassador, and tennis.

Out of School Activities: Anup tutors in physics and mathematics, and volunteers for the American Red Cross.

Honors/Awards: Anup is in charge of the peer tutoring program, which helps to bring fellow students’ grades up and increase their understanding of the subjects. He has also been on the Principal’s List every year.

Future Plans: Anup plans to graduate from dental school, and eventually would like to start his own practice as a dentist.
