Swedesboro Parade Ushers In The Holiday Season, Nov. 30

SWEDESBORO — Kings Highway will be alive with Christmas cheer as Swedesboro celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.

The parade will take place on Kings Highway, beginning at Walter Hill School and will continue all the way through the downtown where it will end at Church Street.

 

The Greater Swedesboro Business Associate sponsored parade will feature a variety of floats, community groups and performing. Groups wishing to participate must

 

register no later than Nov. 20 by contacting Lauren Dunn at 609-560-9711 or the form can be downloaded at www.greatersba.org.

Trophies will be awarded to the group with the best float in each category.

The parade will be concluded with an appearance by Santa. Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children in the Woolwich Fire House until 4 p.m.

The day’s events will wrap up at 6:30 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Borough Hall.

Girl Scout Troop 61590 will be collecting bottled water to be sent to the armed forces. A collection point will be at the Woolwich Fire House on Kings Highway.

The parade has a rain date for the following weekend Saturday, Dec. 7.
