Maroons Take The Win

maroons webThe SJ Maroons 10U (03) squad secured the 10U championship at the Jennie Finch Invitational softball tournament on Apr 26 and 27. The tournament was held at the Diamond Nation baseball and softball complex in Flemington NJ and teams from New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and Rhode Island participated.

In the championship game the Maroons emerged victorious by a score of 2-0 over the PA Strikers from Morgantown PA. With quality pitching, solid defense and timely hitting throughout the line-up, the Maroons were able to hoist the trophy at the end of the long weekend of softball. Over the course of the tournament, the Maroons went 5-1, with four games being decided by two or fewer runs, yet still outscored their opponents 45-10. The successful outcome truly was a team effort as key offensive and defensive contributions were made by each member of the squad.
