2018 Gloucester County Home Gardening School Series of Classes to Begin

DEPTFORD TWP. — Gloucester County Office of Land Preservation, in conjunction with the Gloucester County Certified Gardeners Association, is offering a Home Gardening School series of classes. The school is designed for individuals with an interest in gardening, horticulture and the environment.

All are welcome, whether experienced gardeners or novices. Classes are held on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. You can take all of the classes or just one or two. The fee is $15 per class or $10 per class if you sign up for five or more.

The classes are held in Clayton at the Office of Government Services Bldg., 1200 N. Delsea Drive.

Feb. 7 – Weeds, Weeds, Weeds! Weed ID and Control

Feb. 14 – Houseplants/Indoor Plant Care & Maintenance

Feb. 21 – Native Plants

Feb. 28 – Get the Dirt on Soil and Composting

March 7 – Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!—Basic Entomology

March 14 – Bees and Pollinators

March 21 – Integrated Pest Management

March 28 – Pesticide Use and Safety

April 4 – What’s Wrong with My Plant? Plant Pathology

April 11 – Gardening Naturally

April 18 – Caring for Your Lawn

April 25 – Home Vegetable Gardening

May 2 – Tree Fruit and Small Fruit

May 9 – Pruning Trees and Shrubs

May 16 – Annuals and Perennials: A Kaleidoscope of Color and

Fragrance

  1. Can u recommend a gardener. My back yard on each side needs work. I love the multiple array of flowers but I don’t have a clue of what to put where. Need help badly!! Thank u
