SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

Richard Jaramillo

Richard Jaramillo, son of Rich and Robin Jaramillo of Woolwich Township.

School Activities:  Richard is the Student Council/Student Body President, Student Ambassador, STEM Academy, National Honor Society President, and Varsity Swim Team Captain.

Out of School Activities:  Club Swimming for Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club (22 plus hours of training a week), Hearts United Against Cancer student advisor (service organization that helps cancer patients through treatment), mentoring/teaching youth on how to swim, and conducted a fundraiser sponsored by the Wounded Warriors Project at the Wenonah Swim Club.

Honors/Awards:  2019 Homecoming King, National Honor Society, People’s Choice Award, Honor Roll, Superintendent’s List, College Board AP Scholar, in swimming received honors for First/Second Team All-Conference, Third Team All-South Jersey, State Finalist/Qualifier, Tri-County Conference All-Sportsmanship Team, Homecoming King for 2019-2020 school year, and received Letter of Assurance to the United States Military Academy.

Future Plans: Richard will be attending the United States Military Academy at West Point and hopes to become an officer in the United States Army.

Gabriella Velez

Gabriella Velez, daughter of Miguel Velez and Kimberly Borkowski of Mount Royal.

School Activities:  Gabriella was a cast member of the fall plays of 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20.  cast member of the spring musicals of 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20; Cultures Club 2016-17, 2017-18, 2019-20; Drama Club 2016-17, 2017-18, 2019-20; Chorus and Gospel Choir, Student Ambassador, and Renaissance Club

Out of School Activities:  Gabriella takes vocal lessons with a private coach, dance classes, performance show choir, summer theater camp at the Kimmel Center, and volunteers for a children’s theater at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts.

Honors/Awards:  Tri-M Music Honor Society 2018-19, 2019-20; World Language National Honor Society 2018-19, and Executive Board Member of Kingsway Ambassadors.

Future Plans:  Gabriella’s future plans are to major in musical theater at, hopefully, either New York University or Montclair State University.  During and after her four years of college to earn a BFA, she plans on auditioning, performing on stages, and working behind the scenes of theater productions.

SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER

Abigail Brown

Abigail Brown, daughter of Alan and Annmarie Brown of Mickleton.

School Activities:  Member of the Varsity Field Hockey Team for four years, S.T.E.M. Academy, Student Ambassador, S.A.D.D. Club, and the Foreign Language Club.

Out of School Activities:  Abigail plays for her club team, W. C. Eagles in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  She also is a volunteer for the Kingsway Youth Field Hockey and Lacrosse Leagues.

Honors/Awards:  Voted Captain of the Field Hockey Team the past two years, World Language National Honor Society, and the National Honor Society.  She has also made Superintendent’s List every semester.

Future Plans: Abigail is committed to Lehigh University to play Division 1 field hockey.  She plans to major in biology in the hopes of going to medical school.

Nikolaos Kalfas

Nikolaos Kalfas, son of Caroline Kalfas of Woolwich Township.

School Activities:  President of World Wildlife Fund, member of Cross Country Team, Winter and Spring Track, Orchestra, Chess Club, Mock Trial Team Lawyer, and Yearbook editor.

Out of School Activities:  Nikolaos participates in boy scouting, and cooking as a hobby.

Honors/Awards:  National Honor Society and World Language National Honor Society.

Future Plans:  Nikolaos plans to pursue a degree in Food or Environmental Science.
